His dead body was found after a fall from the 4th-floor balcony at his apartment which was in the Plateau-Mont-Royal district of Montreal. One of the police first told CBC that it was probably a suicide. Her examination determined that Rick’s passed away from head trauma after landing on the sidewalk.
