Career and Professional life
From 2001 to 2009, Dick served as the 46th vice president of the United States under George W. Bush. Dick frequently cited as the most powerful vice president in American history, is one of the most unpopular figures in American politics, holding an approval rating of just 13% upon leaving office, Dick is currently the oldest living former U.S. vice president.
Cheney started his political career as an intern for Congressman William A. Steiger. Therefore, eventually working his way into the White House during the Nixon and Ford administrations. He also served as White House chief of staff from 1975 to 1977. Similarly, in 1978, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and from 1979–1989, he represented Wyoming’s at-large congressional district.
